1995-98

St. Aidan's College, Durham University. BA(Hons) Politics(2.1). I wrote two dissertations as part of my degree.

1989-94

St. Paul's School, London. 3 A-levels (English, History, Economics) grade A, AS-level Maths grade B, AO level French grade A, 10 GCSEs, 9 grade A and 1 grade B.


Employment

5/99-6/99

Marketing assistant for Tate Bramald, the financial software company. My work included analysis of delegate information for accountancy software seminars and general marketing work.

2/99-4/99

Researcher for PIMS, the annual financial services conference organised by Richmond Events for IFAs and the investment/pensions industry. My work included analysis of IFA data and possible future content of the event.

10/98-2/99

Tax associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Banking and Capital Markets division. My time was spent training in Financial Accounting and Taxation, on an intensive business course, and on client work.

6/97-7/97

Undergraduate intern at Price Waterhouse for 8 weeks. I spent a week shadowing partners around the firm, two weeks training as an auditor and the remainder on client work, mainly CIBC and Lloyds TSB.

12/96-1/97

Researcher for Bank of Ireland Fund Managers for 4 weeks, mainly on individual portfolios.

4/96-7/96

Marketing assistant and researcher for Thornton Unit Managers (now Dresdner RCM funds). I worked in the UK marketing division for a total of 10 weeks. Among other things, I performed research into portfolio management services and share exchange facilities and was actively involved in the launch of a new investment trust.

Sales position at Harrods. The two weeks included a full sales course.

9/94-6/95

Pre university employee at IBM UK. I worked in the utilities division, mainly as a researcher on London Electricity and British Telecom accounts. I also ran a small marketing support group for the division with another student.

6/92-7/92

Administrative assistant at Capital Taxes Offices, Department of Inland Revenue.


Activities

I spend as much time as I can travelling. During my gap year I travelled for 2 months in Malawi and Zimbabwe and during 1996 I spent two months in Venezuela and Colombia. I recently went to China for a month. Otherwise I am keen on sport: I played squash and fives for Durham University and cricket for my college. I also play all three sports for clubs in London.

 


Additional Skills

I speak reasonable French and elementary Spanish. My IT skills are strong; I received extensive training at IBM and have worked with computers regu
